Workspace Management

How multi-tenant workspaces work in HUMA — members, roles, and isolation.

Overview

HUMA is built on a fully isolated multi-tenant workspace model. Each workspace is a self-contained environment with its own positions, candidates, reports, members, billing, and settings.

You can belong to multiple workspaces and switch between them instantly.

Creating a Workspace

  1. After signing in, click New Workspace from the workspace switcher
  2. Choose a workspace name and a unique slug (used in URLs)
  3. You become the workspace admin automatically

Workspace slugs must be lowercase alphanumeric with hyphens (e.g. acme-hiring). They cannot be changed after creation.

Workspace Roles

| Role | Permissions | |---|---| | Admin | Full access: settings, billing, member management, all data | | Member | Access to positions, candidates, interviews, and reports |

Promoting a Member to Admin

Go to SettingsMembers → click the member → Change RoleAdmin.

Inviting Members

  1. Go to SettingsMembersInvite Member
  2. Enter the email address
  3. The invitee receives an email with a join link (token-based)
  4. They can accept by clicking the link (they need a HUMA account to join)

Join Request Flow

If your workspace has open join requests enabled, users can request to join by visiting your workspace URL. Admins receive a notification and can approve or deny the request.

Workspace Settings

General Settings

  • Workspace name — display name (can be changed)
  • Workspace slug — URL identifier (cannot be changed after creation)

Evaluation Factors

Configure default evaluation factors and weights for all positions in this workspace. See AI Reports for details.

AI Configuration

  • Select the default AI engine for report generation
  • Configure prompt templates (admin only)

Notification Preferences

Each member can configure their own notification preferences with 8 per-type boolean toggles. See Notifications for details.

Switching Workspaces

Click the workspace name in the top navigation bar → select a different workspace from the dropdown. All data is isolated — switching workspaces shows only that workspace's data.

Playground Workspace

HUMA includes a special Playground workspace flag. Playground workspaces are designed for testing — AI actions consume real credits but candidates and reports are clearly marked as test data.

Deleting a Workspace

Workspace deletion is permanent and irreversible. All positions, candidates, reports, and billing history are deleted.

Only workspace admins can delete a workspace:

  1. Go to SettingsDanger Zone
  2. Click Delete Workspace
  3. Type the workspace name to confirm

FAQ

Can I transfer workspace ownership? Contact support to transfer admin ownership to another member.

How many workspaces can I have? There is no hard limit on the number of workspaces. Each workspace has its own credit balance.

Can two workspaces share candidates? No. Workspace data is fully isolated. To work on a candidate across teams, they must be added to each workspace separately.
